“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it for me.”
(Matthew 25 v40)

Our Harvest offering this year will be going to help AIDS orphans in Zambia through a charity called Isubilo, which means ‘hope’ in the local Bemba language.

By 2010, 1 million children in Zambia alone will have lost one or both parents.

We hope to be able to provide sufficient funding for the building of a small shelter to house about eight children who will be cared for by an AIDS widow.  The cost to set up one of these shelters is £3,000 and it costs £60 a month to run.  So for £3,720, we can build a shelter, provide food and other necessary supplies for a year.  If possible, we would like to be able to extend that period to offer as much security as we can.

Isubilo Community Resource Centre was established in May 2000 in response to the increasing needs of people affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa.  For more information about their work please log on to www.isubilo.org.
